William C. (“Bill”) Gentry has been practicing law in Georgia since 1986. His primary focus is divorce and family law cases, including high asset property division, child custody, and alimony cases. Bill was President of the 1,000-member Cobb County Bar Association from 2001 to 2002. Since 2012, Bill has been a member of the Board of Governors of the State Bar of Georgia, the group that regulates Georgia lawyers, and was elected to the Executive Committee of the State Bar in 2021. Bill has tried hundreds of cases in state and federal courts throughout Georgia, and he has argued dozens of appeals in both state and federal appellate courts in Georgia. He is admitted to and has argued in the Georgia Supreme Court and the Georgia Court of Appeals as well as the 11th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals in Atlanta. Bill is also a member of the bar of the United States Supreme Court. He has been a member of the Cobb County Bar Association since 1988, the State Bar of Georgia since 1986, and the American Bar Association. Bill is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Virginia’s Economics Honors Program where he earned his BA degree in 1981. Bill earned his law degree from the University of Georgia in 1986. Bill currently chairs the District Union Committee of the Central West District of the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church and is a member of Maple Avenue United Methodist Church. Bill also serves on several other boards of charitable organizations.
Kimberly (“Kimi”) Wise began working with Gentry Law Firm LLC in May 2017, while attending Emory Law School. Upon her graduation, Kimi accepted an associate attorney position with the firm in the primary area of Family Law. Prior to her time here, Kimi was an intern for two Cobb Superior Court judges, various family law firms within the Cobb area, and Legal Aid of Cobb County. Kimi earned her B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Kennesaw State University in 2014. While at KSU, Kimi was a member of Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Kimi was also a founding member of the KSU chapter of Kappa Delta Sorority and acted as their founding treasurer. Kimi went on to be a founding member of the Greater Marietta Alumnae chapter of Kappa Delta. At Emory Law School, Kimi’s involvement continued by becoming Vice President of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Society from 2016-2017, a competitor and coach on the mediation team from 2015-2017, Vice President of the Child, Family, and Elder Law Society from 2016-2017, and then President of the Child, Family, and Elder Law Society from 2017-2018. Kimi is a member of the Cobb County Bar Association and the State Bar of Georgia. Kimi serves as a volunteer for Cobb Christmas and the PKD Walk. Currently, Kimi resides in Paulding with her husband, daughter, son, and three dogs.
Ashley began working with Gentry Law Firm in July 2021. Prior to joining the firm, Ashley spent a little over two years practicing in Kentucky, with her primary practice area being family law.
Ashley earned her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Georgia in 2014. While at UGA, Ashley was a member of Sigma Alpha Omega Christian sorority. Ashley spent a semester interning with the Georgia Legislature. In the year following her graduation, Ashley returned and worked as legislative aide prior to beginning law school in fall of 2015.
Ashley earned her J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law in May 2018. While in law school Ashley served as Chair of the Honor Council, President of the Christian Legal Society, and President of StreetLaw – a program which teaches legal rights to local high school students. She was a staff editor for the Kentucky Journal of Equine, Agriculture, and Natural Resources Law. Ashley also received the “Best Advocate” award in her 1L class Trial Advocacy Competition.
Ashley has been admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the Western District of Kentucky U.S. District Court, and the State of Georgia.
Ashley and her husband live in Marietta with their basset hound.
Marie (“Tessa”) Martin started working for Gentry Law Firm in October 2020 while attending Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. Tessa earned her BA in English Literature from Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio in 2012, where she was a member of the Honors Program and Great Books Program.
Prior to joining the firm, Tessa worked for Cobb County Legal Aid, clerked for an Administrative Judge at the EEOC, and interned at a personal injury law firm in Dunwoody. While in law school, Tessa was Managing Editor of Atlanta’s John Marshall Law Journal where several of her articles were selected for publication. She was also a member of the Moot Court team where she earned a spot as contestant for the 2020 Georgia Moot Court Intrastate Competition. Tessa also worked as a research assistant for an Associate Professor at John Marshall in family law and assisted in the publication of scholarly articles in addition to working as a teacher’s assistant to the incoming 1L class for Legal Writing during her final 3L year. Tessa was also a member of the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers and a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity.
Tessa graduated cum laude from law school in May 2021 and was awarded the outstanding graduate award. Upon graduation, Tessa accepted an associate attorney position with the firm doing both family law and personal injury. Tessa is a member of the Cobb County Bar Association and the State Bar of Georgia. She is admitted to practice law in the Superior Court of Georgia, Georgia Court of Appeals, and the Georgia Supreme Court.
In her free time, Tessa enjoys exploring new restaurants, breweries, and dog parks with her fiancé and German Shepherd puppy.
Sue is a paralegal and has been with the firm since February 2001. Sue is married with two adult daughters and a son who is still in school and is a travel baseball player. Her family also consists of two dogs, a German Shepherd and a West Highland Terrier. She and her family enjoy baseball, boating, and hiking.
Danielle initially joined the firm in 2012 as a domestic paralegal. Danielle enjoys spending time with her daughter, Ava, and black lab, Lucy. Outside of work and home, you can find her at the lake, taking weekend mini-vacations, gardening, painting, or taking on a home renovation project.
Luke joined the firm in June 2019. He graduated from Kennesaw State University in 2015 with a B.S. in Criminal Justice. When he is not at the office, Luke enjoys riding his motorcycle, camping, and visiting with his nieces and nephews.
Cassie joined the firm in October 2021. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Valdosta State University in 2013. In 2020, Cassie obtained her Paralegal Certification through the University of Georgia. In her free time she enjoys traveling and finding new hiking spots throughout Georgia.
Stephanie joined the firm in October of 2020. She graduated in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Management from Regent University. She joined the firm with seven years of prior experience in operations management with an Atlanta law firm. When not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their chow/lab mix rescue dog as well as photography.
Elizabeth joined the firm in March of 2020. She graduated from Georgetown University in 2016 and spent four years working on Capitol Hill before moving back to Atlanta, where she currently lives with her two roommates. In her free time, she enjoys hiking Kennesaw Mountain with her dad and exploring local breweries.
Shavon joined the Gentry Law Firm in February of 2021. She is currently majoring in Communications at Kennesaw State University and brings significant experience in client relations, having previously worked in Sales and Customer Service in the auto industry. In her free time, she enjoys photography and painting.
Erica joined the firm in February 2022. She was previously heavily involved with restaurant development for Cellared Roots Hospitality, has certification in life coaching, and is active in youth engagement for resiliency awareness and suicide prevention through Resilient Horizons. In her free time, she enjoys trying out new restaurants, spending time with family and pets, and traveling to see historical sites.
Brittany joined the firm in April 2022. She was previously an executive assistant for a property management company and ran the accounts payable department for about 7 years. Brittany has lived here in the Cobb area for most of her life and enjoys being a mom to four kids, two girls and two boys, so there is never a dull moment. She loves to be outside and go to Braves games with family and friends.
Lauren joined the firm in April 2022. She previously worked in the restaurant industry and as a billing and accounts receivable specialist. Lauren and her husband enjoy trying new restaurants, and they adore their 5-year-old pit bull.
