Marietta residents are very familiar with television’s “Fraiser” and many more know that the star of “Fraiser,” Kelsey Grammer’s marriage to “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Camille Grammer recently ended. During this celebrity couple’s divorce, it was leaked that Kelsey had filed for full physical custody of his children, much to Camille’s dismay. While the battle over their 10-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son went on for some time, it seems the parents have finally come to a custody agreement.
Unfortunately for fans of “Fraiser” and “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” the Grammer’s have not released any more details about the agreement.
In Georgia, fathers who want sole custody of their children face an uphill battle. Although it is not impossible to get full custody, a Georgia family court is more likely to award joint custody or shared parenting time. A father generally must show that a mother is unfit to have custody over the children in order to be awarded sole custody.
It seems that a month after Kelsey requested full custody of the children, he amended his suggestion to try and come to a deal with Camille. He wanted his daughter to remain with Camille and his son to come live with him and his new wife. Unfortunately, Camille did not agree and they went back into child custody negotiations.
While Georgia fathers may not have the same celebrity status as Kelsey Grammer, they are often put into the same difficult situations with their children when they divorce from the children’s mother. Although there is a concern that they may receive less custody than they wanted or no custody at all, fathers can utilize an experienced family law attorney to protect their rights to their children.
