Congressman accused of $100,000 in missed child support payments

As Georgia braces for a potential federal debt default, one of the Republican congressmen who vocally opposes raising the debt ceiling has been accused of not paying $117,437 in child support to his ex-wife. This comes after the congressman focused his campaign platform on making Washington fiscally responsible.

Dodgers' owner can't afford ex-wife's extravagance

What happens when your divorce agreement requires you to pay more in spousal support than you make in a year? You seek a modification of the agreement from the court. That's just what the Los Angeles Dodgers' owner, Frank McCourt, has done.

Child custody and support battle almost gets deadly

New push to involve children in child custody decisions

A child custody battle can be traumatic for both parents and children. Things can come out against both parents and twisted to make that parent look unfit to have custody of a child. In all this, however, do judges consider what the child wants?

Divorce might lose Real Housewife her house

Divorce can be an extremely difficult process and anyone going through one can expect some problems from an ex. There is no exception for reality stars it seems. Sonja Morgan of the "Real Housewives of New York City" is seeking to enforce the $3 million lump-sum divorce judgment entered against her ex-husband. Morgan also claims her ex owes her $300,000 in back alimony, as well.

Single-fatherhood has increased 183% since 1990

It is not just women that head Georgia's single-parent households. Rather, there has been a tremendous increase in single-fatherhood over the past 20 years. Although the number of single-mothers has doubled, single-fathers, who compose 15% of the single-parent households in the United States, is up 183%.
